McLean Residence Installs Synthetic Slate

American Custom Contractors recently completed a roof replacement for The Buck Family of McLean , VA. Mr. Buck is the President and CEO of Beacon Roofing Supply, one of the largest roofing material distributors on the East Coast and the holding company for The Roof Center.

The Buck's were aware from the beginning of their search for a qualified company that finding a competent contractor would be the most important decision in the home improvement process. This can be a challenge for homeowners because of the high volume of contracting companies in the Washington DC Metro area. “All contractors have access to the same materials”, says Mr. Buck, “the company and the individuals that apply the material -- their detail and the workmanship -- give you the best value for your money. We were looking for the most competent company”.

He inquired with one of his local supply centers, The Roof Center, and they provided him with a few select contractors that they recommend. After performing extensive research and interviews with each of these companies they decided to work with American Custom Contractors. They were confident that American Custom Contractors would be able to meet their expectations based on the details in the proposal and the recommendation provided by The Roof Center. “We got more information than we ever knew we needed! The information they gave us was used to determine what was going to happen on the job and what we could expect, in addition to the concerns about our own roof system” added Mrs. Buck.

After choosing the company, the Buck's focused on the product options available to them. The Buck's knew they wanted to replace their cedar shake roof system with a synthetic slate product. After investigating the options that American Custom Contractors offers they decided to install Tamko Lamarite Slate, a synthetic slate product that would enhance the beauty of their home for years to come. They also elected to upgrade all of the underlayments and to incorporate copper flashings and copper snow guards to the roof system. In addition to the quality of the work, the Buck's complimented American Custom Contractors on the property protection and clean-up measures that were taken by the crew. “It really was a stress free experience…they took a lot of care during the project”, says Mr. Buck. After the completion of the roof system, the Buck's also decided to replace their gutter system with 6” gutters and dowspouts and a gutter cover system recommended by American Custom Contractors. The company and staff are pleased to have exceeded the Buck's expectations!
